Great study knife built for Survival and Emergency purpose. I got this knife to complement my outdoor gears about 2 years ago. I really have not use it until this year and I was not disappointed by the form and function of this knife. The knife is a solid one piece 1070 steel with a hollow handle. That is why I got such a big knife as I was going to used this to build a survival kit, an idea from the good old Rambo knife philosophy. Since this is a one piece knife broken tang and pins is not an issue per many reviewers have mentioned.

Now that’s a knife!!! Wow, this is a mamaluka of a knife! Big, sharp, beautifully designed, perfect fit and finish, and milled out of a single block of 1070 high carbon steel so it is indestructible, I mean bombproof. This is a reproduction of the old Chris Reeve knife called Project 1, and to my eye every bit as beautifully built and finished. If a big, strong knife is what you want, you should check this one out. I was looking for a big, strong knife to carry in the pocket at the bottom of my car door. This one appears to be the one I wanted. Very impressive construction from good carbon steel. It gives one the feeling that it might be indestructible, but I couldn’t guarantee that.
