The Old Fashioned line hasn’t changed much in the past 85 years. An old family recipe, dating back to the 1920s, has been updated with all natural ingredients and a simplified process to create a product that celebrates the BEEF in beef jerky. It’s what real beef jerky is all about! An all-natural spice blend featuring cracked black pepper and sea salt is rubbed into thick, cowboy-style cuts of beef then slow-cooked for a minimum of five hours. The thicker cut and reduced moisture highlights the cracked black pepper and sea salt framing the natural richness of the meat.

The bag is huge, the jerky is great! If you’re thinking of buying this and expecting to get something like Jack Links, move along. This is the real deal. This is that type of jerky your grand pappys grand pappy would’ve eaten. You take meat, season it, salt it up, dehydrate it. That simple. The jerky is dry and flaky, it tends to splinter into a bundle of muscle fibers in your mouth as you chew. Once you get it nice and hydrated again, you unlock the deep beefy flavor locked inside.I was skeptical about buying jerky online, I always like to inspect any type of meat before buying, but I’m happily surprised. I may even set up a monthly delivery of this stuff…but I need to work through this bag first…it’s no joke.I thought they might skimp on the 1lb and do some trickery, but no. This is definitely 25$ worth imo. I pay more for less at the gas station 😮

This is the perfect jerky. I have been searching for the perfect jerky for over a decade. Years ago I gave up, and tried to start making it myself, but it wasn’t sustainable. My house reeked. My tiny kitchen could barely fit the dehydrator. My girlfriend always asked me for dried bananas and hated when they tasted beefy. I gave up.10 years later, I stumbled across this off-brand-looking amazon product and had to try it out. What did I discover?Chewy, but not frustratingly so. Spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. Just enough salt. No artificial additives. No sugar (why are so many jerkies so sweet?? That Krave crap is garbage.) Fatty enough to add moistness and a respite to the natural dryness of Jerky where it’s needed, but never too much to make it weird. I have tried 3 other flavors of People’s Jerky (original, spicy limon and the sweet ginger one) and thought it could get no better. Today, I was proven wrong.PJ, you have outdone yourselves. This is the holy grail of jerky.
