Red/Large Cup Large Travel Cup: I ordered this because we will be camping for my Study Away class this summer. I saw that the cup was collapsable so that we can pack it in our backpacks, and not have to worry about bringing disposable bowls/cups. It collapses down to about 1/2″ or so.
Nice cup – exactly what I needed This is a nice cup and exactly what I was looking for. I was able to use it with an immersion heater. I had been worried that it might melt but it doesn’t. You need to use an immersion heater with great caution, especially as this cup has a small bottom and might easily tip over but so far it’s been great to use while traveling. The cup itself gets hot and the metal lip uncomfortably hot, but I am able to cautiously handle the cup with my bare fingers even after boiling water.I’m not sure what use the strap on the cover has. The cover doesn’t fit all that tightly and if you used the strap to secure it to the outside of a backpack or anything else, you will eventually lose the cup. I think I’ll just leave the cover at home on my next trip.
Not bad Overall it’s a great product. There are some small issues though. First it is really dirty (machining spot) around the metal rim. Get in that area using a paper towel and your nail when cleaning as the dishwasher and a basic sponge won’t get it and it will smell. Dry it thoroughly to avoid possible rusting. Other than that for a first day of use. It is not bad.
