Heavy Metal I misplaced my cold steel Recon 1 so I got this as a replacement. This is a very solid knife with the best assisted opening I have encountered yet. That said it is about the same size as my Recon 1 but it is a lot heavier. 10.3 oz for this knife vs 5.1 for the similarly sized Recon 1. I love this knife it has a great feel but it is too heavy to carry in many situations. I really do wish it had been significantly lighter. They tell you it is 10 oz up front but if you have no basis for comparison you will not realize what a hefty chunk that really is,
