Quality multi use hatchet I’m writing this review because no one had done so prior to my purchase. I just wanted to advise anyone that was interested, that they would not be disappointed with this multi tool hatchet. The quality is more than I expected for the price, which by the way, was less than an almost identical competitor. I was trying to decide between this model and the other. Almost perfect I really love the overall quality of this axe but I did have a couple of issues. When chopping through a log, I did notice the handle turned and made everything super tight. Iâm now unable to open the knife part of the handle. Another big issue is the magnesium striker rod broke at the base so Iâm unable to screw it out and replace it. Basically when it comes to using this axe as just an axe, itâs great. But the other features definitely have flaws.
Machinists Review 4 stars only due to the design is not optimal…as in not much room for extra storage. I ran a magnet over the entire handle and I believe it is stainless. The head however is a carbon steel… however it is not hardened, I ran a file across it to test this. The threads on the handle are nice and tight with no wiggle once assembled.
