If you do not pack it so that it is almost exploding with stuff, it will fit nicely under the airplane seat in front of you. Does the job I bought the bag to use as a tail bag on my motorcycle, and so far it has gotten the job done. I attached it to the seat with the straps and it has been pretty snug since. It’s a fairly decent size, not huge, but not exactly tiny either, it should easily accommodate items you need to carry back & forth. I regret buying this The bag looks nice, but it is heavier than I expected. I took this on a 10 day trip to the UK. It fit everything I needed it to and met the size requirements for all of my flights. That being said, I will never use this bag again. This is NOT a hiking backpack.
