still working on it This past week we attempted to use this tent for the first time on our annual beach vacation. One of the legs broke immediately. It did not pop open well. It seemed to get tangled with itself. All the parts didn’t come out as they should have and it was just frustrating. It would not stay open and just kept popping closed. Shame about the wind I like it. I really do. It is very light and easy to assemble. I huge improvement of some of the heavy gear we have tried out. Why only 3 stars. It is held up by sand pockets and some (relatively cheap plastic) spikes. The sand pockets are great. The spikes less so, but I bought some longer metal ones for $7 on Amazon; no sweat. But when we tried to put up up on a moderately windy day, it did not stay up. You have to be very careful with these open mouth shades since if they catch the wind -are…
We’ll see Easier to open, in my opinion, than the Pacific Breeze. However this is a cheap flimsy version and I’m not at all sure that it will stand up to wind. I like the flap that extends beyond the front edge. I also like the fact that if it breaks I’ve only spent half of what the Pacific Breeze was. When putting up the tent, the legs will not lock. Just let them dangle and pull up the string. The tension will keep them straight. I hope.
