About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener’s mother, and “inox,” or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

A great multi purpose tool knife. Surprisingly useful for almost any need. These are a great multi tool pocket knife. For its size and simplicity it is surprising how useful it is and how the tools that are incorperated are just about everything you need in a pocket knife. When I was working in Switzerland I was given a knife like this knife from a friend. He explained that this is the knife is issued by the Swiss military. I purchased a number of these from him as he could get them from the military supply store for $10.00USD a piece. The only differences between this…

Excellent Gift I bought 8 of these as gifts for my wedding party. I’d bought almost an identical knife in Switzerland 10 years ago and carry it every day. These are almost exactly like my Swiss bought “official army issue” knife except this model has a spot to engrave on the back and the key ring is a little more flimsy. Overall it’s a great EDC piece.

This is a terrific knife. It just feels solid and well built … I own 20 swiss army knives and this is my first alox model. This is a terrific knife. It just feels solid and well built with excellent snap in all the tools. The blade is a bit thicker/longer as is the screw driver/bottle opener compared with the 91 mm models. However, the can opener is exactly the same size as it is in the 91 mm models. The blade was the sharpest blade from the factory I’ve gotten from a SAK. Overall, I love it!
