Did the Trick for Me I have a set of MSR Groundhog stakes and the instructions say to push the stakes into the ground with your hand. These instructions may work at some campsites. However, where I live in the South, there’s thin layer of topsoil and then clay and gravel below. Depending on the spot, pushing by hand isn’t an option, so I used this mallet. It is strong and light and works like a charm.
Exactly what you wanted It is what it is. It’s a cheap plastic mallet.You buy it because it’s lightweight and if you lose it you not to cry, not because it’s going to drive in 48 inch spikes or anything like that.
