Great for a firepit or sunken fire. I am very happy with my purchase of this tripod. It is well built and should last many lifetimes.I have used it with a Lodge 4 quart, Coleman 7.5 quart, and Lodge 10 quart dutch ovens.I also put a Grillmark Chrome Cooking Grate 25″ on four chains connected to a 1.5″ ring to cook hotdogs and hamburgers on. Great Tripod but a Bit Short This tripod seems to be built great and would work perfectly if you are a in-ground fire pit.
