Very helpful during power outages… I already had one of these Rayovac battery-operated lanterns and recently purchased a second one on Amazon. I have another battery operated lantern by a different company but the light it emits is not nearly as bright as the Rayovac. I find these lanterns invaluable for power outages (which we unfortunately have in our locale). Don’t buy this POS lantern. Don’t buy this lantern. It is not designed or made well. This product is a waste of money. The hand turning screw that secures the battery compartment on the bottom of the lantern is the worst design flaw and will frustrate you beyond belief. Try replacing batteries to see just how finicky the connection is. At best your hands and fingers will hurt. That hand screw requires the hand strength of a wrestler to tighten effectively. Getting lights to work after battery replacement requires patience…
