Lets walk through a few important points when looking for a tarp. Size and weight are at the forefront of most lightweight or ultralight hikers minds and it should be. The OV tarp line up can vary from 14 oz up to 23 oz which means you can save massive weight over a tent with poles and liners! As for size, the tarps are specifically designed to cover our OV Ultralight Hammock system with room to spare for added protection. When it comes to storing the tarps they easily fold back into their tough carry sack that is only a few inches tall! It’s also important that you look for a proper design. The OV tarps come in two shapes to work great with both a hammock or the ground! Choose between a faster, lighter model with 4 sides, or add 2 ounces and get more coverage with a 6 sided tarp. It’s important to note that every side of the OV tarps are cut with a slight curve or catenary cut to help keep the fabric tight and avoid noise as the wind picks up. As for the tie-outs, they are fully adjustable with included stakes and corner holds for trekking poles to slide in when using them as a part of your setup! Design and weight are important, but the true heart and soul of a tarp is the fabric used in it’s construction. Fabric, more than anything, determines weight and durability. Our tarps come in an ultralight model that utilize 20 denier ripstop polyester that has been siliconized on the top side with a light PU coating on the underside to avoid any misting. Our lightweight model uses a 75 denier polyester ripstop that use a PU coating for waterproofing. Both tarps come factory seam taped. With both of those premium fabric options, you can count on long term performance while adding only ounces to your pack!

I love this rainfly I love this rainfly! I bought it to replace the “bikini” one on my hennessy asym hammock. This gives better coverage without being too big or bulky. It even fits into the snakeskins with the hammock without a problem. Seems to be made well. In fact, I had a raccoon run across the top in the night and there was no evidence of his charade next morning. I was expecting to find claw holes. Seams are taped and so far I’ve had no leaks. I really like the cord and integrated tighteners. Makes…
Awesome, light, and strong! Great price! Awesome product! Glad I had it with me, and set it up, when a unexpected rainstorm came up at 3am! It was my first time setting it up (or any hammock tarp) and I should have made it more taught on the wings, but it never sagged or failed to keep me nice and dry. And low weight is incredible and it feels high quality.I really like the cord tighteners attached to the corners! I wish for additional ease of setup they would have included cordlocks on the cords to make it even less…
Great tarp anyway……. The tarp seems great but the measurements given for the tarp are diagonal not legnth x width.It’s made really well and is still a great value. Just wish the measurements were explained more clearly. I would buy again.
