High Quality, Rugged Multi-Purpose Knife If you haven’t visited Morakniv’s website, you should. They are serious knife makers. Although much of the fabrication is done on most models by machines they seem to know what they are doing and doing it right. This is my third Morakniv. They all share the same quality features: well designed, top grade steel, perfectly heat treated and consistently well finished. There are dozens of different knives shown in their catalog. Glad I got this one (even the wife is glad I got it) Good general purpose backpacking knife! Quality steel, appropriate thickness, 3/4 tang makes a nice weight knife to carry. The blade is strong enough to baton with. The spine throws lots of sparks off a ferrous rod. The “scandi” grind shaves fine coils of wood for starting fires. The thinner front portion of the blade does nice detail work. The grip stays put in my hand. The “multi mount” can be used in a wide variety of ways. Great hunting/fishing/camping knife, may be a little light for bushcraft Scandi grind with a solid blade and nonslip grip, couldn’t ask for much more. The blade was fairly sharp when I received it but a little TLC with am 800/100 stone and some stropping got it razor sharp. It did almost everything I needed it to as a hunting and camp knife. I may grab a Garberg later on, I had difficulty with the Kansbol when it came to splitting the sternum of a buck and cutting through the pelvis.
