Despite reading many reviews both good and bad I purchased a second one in fall 2015. The blade instantly showed its true character, denting after a few swings. Thinking I’d messed something up, I took the time to meticulously fix the dent, and resharpened the blade. Owned for Seven-Years, Still Works Fantastic I have been using this machete for the last seven-years to clear weeds and small trees for everything from hiking trails to general upkeep around the house. I have hit thin trees, thick trees, vines, weeds, rocks (on accident), brick (also on accident), and small animals (only once). I have also used the saw to cut down quite a few small trees, and even to cut up some small logs for firewood.
Horrible Product. I ordered this item for use on trail work over the holiday break.. It was delivered on time and packaged well.
