Balanced for optimum handling, this Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Knife has an overall length of 10 inches and weighs just 11.2 ounces — 14.72 ounces with the included sheath.
Just as versatile as the knife it protects, the included sheath folds open to reveal a diamond sharpener. The sheath also has a life-saving fire starter rod locked into a water-tight holder. This ferrocerium rod produces a shower of hot sparks when scraped against the rough surface of the striker notch that is incorporated into the back of the knife blade. For further versatility and functionality, the sheath includes a waterproof “Priority of Survival” guide tucked into a protective pocket on the back of the sheath.

Good for starters and camping When I bought this knife I did not know much about fixed blade and survival knives. I will start off and talk about who it is for. This knife is for people who are just getting into camping, survival, and bush craft. The knife comes with everything you need in one kit. The price is a little expensive considering the quality of the knife. This knife could be great for someone who just wants a simple knife to have in their car or camping backpack. If you NEED serrations, it’s a great knife, otherwise, the other model without serrations would be better. I bought this hoping it’d be a great knife, which in all honesty, it is. But I wouldn’t call it a survival knife. Reason being, are the serrations. It’s a personal preference. But as soon as you whack something , those serrations get bent to heck and back. You have to baby a knife with serrations like these. Who would call that for “survival use”?I wound up grinding the serrations off with my Worksharp Ken Onion. I’ve never reprofiled a knife, so it has some weird bevel…

Bought this as a cheaper alternative (34.95) to the Morakniv Bushcraft Carbon Steel Survival Knife with Fire Starter (58.99).Immediately liked the feel of the knife. Compared to my Prodigy Tanto, its grip feels a lot better. Fire striker works well. Knife is more substantial than the Bushcraft.
