Not for me Title says washable. I washed and dried it because of the smell. It shed like crazy in both the washer and dryer. It still smelled (and so did my washing machine for about the next three loads) and it’s now unused in the trash. I’ve ordered a different wool blanket from another manufacturer that doesn’t apply chemicals.

The blanket is still shedding material like crazy after 7 washes. I have experience with used service blankets, Northwest Woolen Mills service blankets and their 80% wool prison blanket sold here on Amazon, and this EKTOS blanket’s quality is FAR BELOW any of these U.S. made competitors for about the same price. I would stay away from this product at this price. This is a sub 10-15 dollar product as it will fill…
Don’t wash them and keep them smelling funny with the chemical so they wont get eaten but … I’ve been drinking, so look it’s simple. Wash the thing twice (maybe three times) don’t even pull it out of the washer. Just add a standard amount of detergent more at the end of the cycle and run it again. Throw in dryer (since these have the sown edges) on LOW heat. If you put it on high heat it might just shrink, so you know, don’t do it. BOOM! Smell gone. It’s there to keep it from being eaten by bugs. The chemical that is. It’s harmless as far as standard application is concerned…
