I purchased this lantern because I wanted one that was bright enough to light up a room… bright enough to cook by, play cards by, read by, and so on. It will do the job. Totally worth it! I am not sure if this is a Chinese manufacturer or Chinese brand. But they did an excellent job on the quality of this light. Especially the build and design. it feels absolutely solid and does not look cheesy cheap. It even looks better than the over $60 ones here on amazon.
