German Engineered and built Not sure about lower stars. This is a well constructed piece of equipment, solid and easy to use. Assembly isn’t really difficult, altough the pieces are all separate, so you have to be able to figure out it goes together one way. The ashcatcher is adjustable, so you can burn different fuels at different heights. Bought as a backup in case of running out of caned fuel, or for bare bones camping.
This is a cool little stove This is a cool little stove. It is lightweight, easy to use and it runs off of little twigs! It took about 10-12 minutes to boil water in a steel cup/pot and you have to keep feeding it twigs during the process, they burn quickly in this thing. I recommend you put it together and take it apart a few times before you get out in the middle of the woods (as you probably should with all of your gear). Excellent stove for ultralight camping I cooked eggs with one 3 foot twig. The fit of the corners is a little tight during the build, but it supports a good fire for a small hobo stove. I think that there is probably no better stove for ultralight camping. You can cook and boil water without carrying fuel as long as the weather is dry, and you can bring some esbit cubes or an alcohol burner to put in it for wet days if you want. The huge benefit, of course, is that it breaks down flat for packing. Where wind will really…
