The Mindful Engineering ethos is about making low-tech, down to earth products that enhance the lives of children and their families. Our vision is to build everyday products for children, products that encourage working with ones hands and spending time outdoors. In general our product mix is made up of low environmental impact, thoughtful design and attractive games, toys and tools. If by using our products it enhances the experience of any single young child’s life we will have been successful in our mission. Being a thoughtful, behind the scenes part of a childs’ life is what drives our engineers, manufacturers and designers in their daily efforts.

The opportunity to design an attractive, thoughtful baby carrier backpack was very exciting to our team. This tool is the ideal assistant for a busy parent who wants to show their son or daughter the great outdoors. It’s the perfect compliment for a child as it’s soft and cuddly when they need to be napping and yet comfortable when peering out over your father, mother or grandparents shoulder out into the wild. For the parent it was important to us to develop a product that was comfortable and ergonomic for long term use hiking over expansive terrain.

We truly wish that our RETRO SCOUT hiking baby carrier is the ultimate tool for your comfort and your babies safety while enjoying the great outdoors! If you have any questions about our product or company, do not hesitate to contact us anytime.

Like it a lot – but a few things hold me back from 5 stars – a good contender considering the price. Need more time; like it a lot but don’t love it. Here’s why:Pros – I really like the look of the dark green, throw back to military green canvas a la Rambo/MASH/etc. Feels nice on the back, well padded, lots of pockets, water sack accessory. The kid seems be very comfortable and enjoys being in the seat. Price – is half the price of the other name brand models. Adjustable – both my wife and I can use it (6ft1, and 5ft 6)Cons – With out a ton of use there is already 3 things…

As far as adjustments anyone who complains basically has never operated a hiking backpack they are pretty standard I had no issues whatsoever adjusting anything on this bag. So far the only “CONS” I see- I thought they were real leather…
