How it Works

Designed with a double wall, the patented (#D701,721) Solo Stove Campfire is a natural convection inverted downgas gasifer stove. The air intake holes on the bottom of the stove channels air to the bottom of the fire while at the same time, channels warm air up between the walls of the stove. This burst of preheated oxygen feeding back into the firebox through the smaller holes at the top of the stove causes a secondary combustion. This allows the fire to burn more complete which is why there is very little smoke during full burn. A more efficient burn also means you’ll use much less wood compared to an open camp fire. The Solo Stove Campfire doesn’t just burn wood. It actually cooks the smoke out of the wood and then burns the smoke not once, but twice!

The cooking ring’s angled lip also increases efficiency by directing heat towards your pot minimizing heat loss. It also acts as a windshield while still allowing oxygen to flow inward. The Solo Stove Campfire is indeed one of the most efficient wood burning stoves you’ll ever own.

but after using a magic eraser it quickly looked like new. I did have one defect in the … This is the first Solo Stove product I have ever bought. We purchased this stove for emergency preparedness and for camping without using propane or camping fuel. Based on the reviews for this product on Amazon we purchased it.

Wonderful stove This is an actually cool stove. It’s usable–we tested it by actually USING it to cook numerous meals at home, partly so I could get the hang of operating it and controlling the temperature in the stove to achieve a bit of finesse with it beyond the usual boil-it-to-death type of cooking. it’s not as easy as learning to use a propane or liquid gas stove, just so you know ahead of time. Here, the temperature is controlled by the addition of fuel as needed to increase or maintain a particular…

Just buy it!! Works absolutely amazing! This is a must for any hiker or camper. This model is slightly larger and would add a little more extra weight to your pack but it is manageable. I would say this one is more for the already established camper, would be great for a family. If you’re looking for something small, lightweight, for the dual or solo camper/hiker , into an “off the grid” setting, then I would chose the Solo Stove & Pot 900 Combo. Either way you choose, you won’t be disappointed. I…
