About MSR

Outdoor enthusiasts looking for the next great gear idea, they went on to design the world’s first self-inflating mattress, the Therm-A-Rest. wisper lite It’s a wisper lite. Works good. Dumped some old unleaded fuel I had on hand in to it, and it fired right up. Considering I have not used one in 30 years, nothing suprising.By the way, there is no fuel bottle that comes with as pictured. That was a bit hard to determine from the advertising, even though I knew it did not. Just thought some might be confused by that.

Great backpacking stove! LOVE this stove! So light and easy to use. It packs up in a pinch. I’ve never had any problems with it in the 2-3 years I’ve had it. Although you can use multiple types of fuel with it, I recommend sticking to white gas. It’s less messy. Using unleaded gasoline works but covers the product in black soot — which then gets on your hands and whatever else it touches. Save yourself the hassle and buy white gas.

Great tried and true stove I really like MSR WhisperLite gas stoves. I have often borrowed this from a friend to use on camping trips, and I am thrilled to own my own now.I know the liquid gas stoves can be a little more complicated and larger than the canister fuel stoves, but I really like that the fuel for these (white gas, pump gasoline) is so readily available. I’ve only used it with white gas, but it is very fuel efficient and I like that the bottle is refillable. It is also nice to have the liquid fuel…
