A must have to field exercises or deployments I used this system for a deployment to the middle east last year. It was a real life saver in a place where the Army didn’t have any dining facilities. We mostly ate of the local market, which luckily had ramen. I used this thing daily, and would have used it more had I thought to by the coffee press attachment. The cup is durable, the water boils freakishly fast, and the whole thing is very fuel efficient.So why only 3 stars? Well, the stove portion of the system melted down…
A Need-to-Have. Period. This thing is amazing. Not only can I make fresh coffee in the middle of the woods at any time, in a matter of minutes, but the entire system to do so takes up just on compartment in my camera bag (Lowepro Pro Runner AW II).You’re able to boil water in under two minutes so combine that with the inexpensive coffee press and you’ll make the fastest coffee ever. works great, but doesn’t like a lot of wind I bought this for making my coffee (using an Aeropress) in the military and for backpacking. Overall I like it, It lights easily and boils pretty dang fast. But I must agree that it doesn’t stay lit in gusty conditions as well as I’d hoped (because it seemed to be a driving force behind their design).
