Gentent Easy installation. I have not tested the cover in the rain, but, I do not see any reason why it would not work. There is an included skirt that drops down to cover the electronic parts of the generator and motor from wind driven rain. I do not see any reason why the cover would not stay put during high winds due to strapping.
