Very bright, nice to have the “lamp” and also directional lights to see where you’re going We are planning a camping trip soon, and are going to need a couple lights to be able to see in our tents, but also see where the restrooms are in the middle of the night. Not as good as before They definitely made some tradeoffs with this new version. The build isn’t as neat and clean and nice. It’s got that shiny cheap plastic look and feel to it unlike the soft, sharp muted look of before. They “added” a flashlight to the lantern and, as a consequence, the handle now has to be cheap rubber with a cheap little metal clip that can be unhooked and moved this way or that, rather then the sturdy metal handles of the last version, which was only a lantern.
