How TRU-Infrared Works

All Char-Broil TRU-Infrared grills generate a minimum of 65 percent infrared heat, which is evenly spread across the entire cooking surface to cook food — without drying — at temperatures that range from simmer to sear.

Unlike traditional gas grills that use convective heat (hot air) to cook food, Char-Broil’s TRU-Infrared grills limit the hot air flow and use natural, radiant heat to cook food directly without drying. While convective heat destroys food’s moisture barrier, infrared heat penetrates it without drying and locks in natural juices and flavors. Char-Broil’s TRU-Infrared cooking system virtually eliminates flare-ups while producing very even heat (no hot or cold spots).

Problem with the grid The grill works well. I’ve had it for some weeks now and used it to cook some steaks and they were delicious. However, after the first use I notice the grid is starting to rot away as seen in the attached pics. It’s very difficult to believe this is stainless steel and deteriorating so rapidly. So far, nothing else is wrong with the grill but need the replacement grid at the very least.

Buy the Bayou Classic control valve and you’ll have a great grill! This is a nice grill but if you have read the reviews a repetitive compliant is that it is too hot. Absolutely agree but if you read the Sept. 8th 2015 review that recommends the Bayou classic control, take the advice. With this valve you can reduce the temp to whatever you want and can cook moist chicken breasts and perfect slow cooked ribs (350 deg on the temp gauge). Spend $20 extra bucks on this valve with adaptors and you will be glad you did.

The grill worked fine until the regulator quit working The grill worked fine until the regulator quit working. I could no longer control the temp., it was always high and I could no longer shut it off enough so that the bottle of propane ran dry. I have been trying to get a new regulator, but they are back ordered. It seems a lot of people have been having this problem.
